Let the little children come

"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them,
because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."

He knew what He was doing when He brought one this adorable into our home.

"To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness...."

When God takes something precious away you know
He has something greater in store for you.

Is it harder to fight through the same suffering all your life,
and always know what you're up against?

Or is it harder to have a good long time to enjoy a full life,
and then to be blindsided by something you thought you knew,
but then turned out to be something else entirely?

One after another....

eternal perspective....

A friend of a friend passed away last week, leaving behind her husband and two young sons.
I never met her, but my entire church had been praying for her healing since her cancer had progressed to more intense stages, about 5 months ago.
Keep the family in your prayers.

Funerals always put things in perspective...
I am reminded that suffering is not eternal, it is merely a tool God uses to shape our hearts into more worthy vessels.
.................................................................
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
-1 Peter 5:10
.................................................................

...He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
-Revelation 21:3-4

waiting for that day!

Life goes on

Just finished reading Kate Chopin's The Awakening.

"The voice of the sea speaks to the soul."

Beautiful.

Made me want summer even more.
I wasn't sure if that was possible.

On another note...

Eric set up the zip line :)
